Privacy Policy
Effective June 12, 2026
Tidewall does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any of your data.
It is a local-only browser extension. It has no servers, no accounts, and makes no network connections of any kind. Everything it does happens on your own device.
What Tidewall stores on your device
To do its job, Tidewall saves a small amount of information using Chrome's local extension storage. This data never leaves your device:
- Your blocklist: the built-in list plus any sites you add yourself.
- Your settings: the breathing pattern and session length.
- A local tally: anonymous counts of how often the breathing screen appeared and how many sessions you completed, used only to show your progress.
What Tidewall does not do
- It does not collect personal information, your identity, or your location.
- It does not read, record, or transmit the content of the pages you visit or your browsing history.
- It does not use analytics, telemetry, cookies, or any third-party services.
- It does not sell, share, or transfer any data to anyone, for any purpose.
How the stored data is used
The information above is used only to provide Tidewall's features to you: blocking sites, running the breathing exercise, and showing your own progress. It is never used for any other purpose.
Security
Because nothing is ever sent off your device, your information is never exposed in transit and is never held on any server.
Your controls
You are always in control of your data. You can review or clear it any time from Tidewall's Settings page, and removing the extension permanently deletes everything it stored.
Changes to this policy
If Tidewall's data practices ever change, this page will be updated and the effective date above revised.
